South Fremont was founded by a group of believers who saw the need for a church in Springfield's growing southeast side. Initially renting from other churches, South Fremont moved to its current location in 1971. Since its formation, South Fremont has been known as a church that gives and serves. One of the first gifts given was an airplane (we would love to tell you about it). We support ministries throughout the state of Missouri through our partnership with over 100 other churches. These ministries range from summer camp to adult activities to ministry education. We are also partners with ministries around the world and in the United States. With God's help, we intend to consistently live up to that legacy of giving and serving.
Our goal is to embrace our community with both arms of the Gospel.
One Arm of the Gospel is truth. Jesus Christ is that truth. His ministry, life, death, resurrection and continuing work offer freedom, purpose, forgiveness, and so much more. We believe that everything He has said from the first page of the Bible to the last page of the Bible contain that truth. As the truth, He is also the Light of the World. He shows us what life can be and what our lives should be all about.
The other Arm of the Gospel is grace and mercy. Jesus told the truth while reaching out to the outcasts and hurting.
